JE Dunn Construction, a commercial contractor, was founded more than 80 years ago in Kansas City. While the company was highly successful and well known in Kansas City, it had very little market share in the Rocky Mountain Region. It was seen as the out-of-town contractor, making it difficult to secure highly visible projects and projects in the public sector. The company was receiving few requests to bid, and was spending too much time chasing unqualified projects.
